September 11th, 2009. Published under Visiting Zouk Instructors. No Comments.
Dont miss out on this chance to learn some Zouk moves from this Dennis and Marjonneke from Holland!
Their classes will focus on learning lots of figures for all levels of dancers; If you’ve never taken a zouk lambada class before, this is the perfect time to come and learn what makes it so unique. If you are looking to hone your skills, it’s an equally opportune weekend to expand your zouk “vocabulary.”
ABOUT DENNIS AND MARJONNEKE:
Marjonneke van Oosten started dancing in high-school. She was immediately hooked on Zouk. Last year she assisted Dennis twice in New York. She also assists/teaches Kizomba (a lot of Zouk music is actually Kizomba from Angola), which clearly influences her Zouk dancing style.
Dennis Mook-Kanamori started dancing in junior high-school. Like all Dutch boys, he had to learn ballroom dancing. In college, he picked up Cuban Salsa. He has been dancing Zouk for almost 5 years and taught several Zouk marathon weekends in NY last year. Dennis‘ classes are focused on learning many different figures/combo’s in a short period of time by getting a feel for the music. Marjonneke and Dennis have been dancing together for 2 years and live happily together in Leiden, the Netherlands. They are getting married in May 2010.

Aug 21 & 22 Zouk classes with Leon!
August 16th, 2009. Published under Visiting Zouk Instructors. 2 Comments.
Leon is visiting southern California from his native Israel where he has been dancing lambada since 2005. Shortly afterward he started teaching with “Zouk Lambada Israel” and is now a prominent zouk lambada dancer in the Tel Aviv zouk community.
Leon has traveled to many congresses (Barcelona, Amsterdam, Porto Seguro), and studied with famous Lambada teachers such as Braz dos Santos, Gilson Damasco, Patricia Cruz, Didi and Patricia. Studying with the original ‘Kaoma’ dancers from Porto Seguro, Leon maintained the original dancing style of the Porto Seguro Lambada.
During his years teaching and traveling, Leon developed practical teaching methods with emphasis on technique and body expression.
