What is Zouk Lambada?

Zouk Lambada is essentially a fusion of the lambada dance that originated in Brazil and Zouk music that was started in the French Caribbean.

Zouk Lambada is a partner dance danced to a 3/4 beat. There are both open and closed positions and it involves spinning, twists and dips. Many of the movements of zouk can be found in other latin dances such as salsa and samba as well as ballroom dances like waltz.

A love-child of zouk and lambada, zouk lambada (sometimes known as lambazouk) is danced in Rio de Janeiro, Porto Seguro, Buenos Aires, London, Amsterdam, Sydney, Barcelona, Israel, Japan, New York and now getting started in Southern California!
